Held on the 1st Saturday of October 10AM to 3PM

A free community celebration of the working and recreational waterfront.

The October 7, 2017 Redwood City PortFest was spectacular!  It is historic -- the Sesquicentennial for Redwood City (150th anniversary) and the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Port.  We are also celebrated Save the Bay's "Bay Day".
The video below shows highlights from this year's PortFest.

We enjoyed the Fog City Swampers, the Touch of Class Band, the West Bay Community Band, the Sequoia High School Band and the Woodside High School Orchestra.  We were lucky to see a bauxite ship in port from Australia on the Working Waterfront Bus Tour.  Sims Metal Management had their scrap metal shredding operation underway even on a Saturday in order to get a full shipload of recycled metal outgoing to Asia this week.  It was fun to see the operation up close.  The jetpack demonstration was amazing.  And we had lots people taking advantage of the Kids Cool Game Truck for playing video games.  The weather was perfect!

We would like to thank our financial sponsors Sims Metal Management, Monolith Materials, the Seaport Industrial Association and the Port of Redwood City.  In-kind sponsors include the City of Redwood City, Marine Science Institute, Sea Scouts of Ship Gryphon, Sea Cadets of Moffet Air Squadron, Sequoia Yacht Club, Spinnaker Sailing, San Mateo County History Museum, and Recology.  Thanks to all of our participants, vendors, Labadie Productions, and Port staff for making it all go smoothly.

And thank you to everyone who attended.  We hope you had a great time and we hope to see you again next year!

We'd like to share your best event photos or "selfies" from PortFest.  Email them to rwcportfest@gmail.com.
